"So easy a child could understand" takes on new meaning with this book...

"The Illad" (and "The Odyssey") is a great book but it can be a pain to read. "The Illad for Children" (and "The Odyssey for Children") takes this masterpiece and puts it in terms that "a child could understand," literally. Try reading this book once, then go back and read the original and you'll be surprised what you've been missing. It's all the thrill without the headache. An excellent book that let's children enjoy a classic, "The Illad for Children" (and "The Odyssey for Children") also make the ultimate Cliff Notes for adults.

The Greek Myths are great! Personally I don't like trudging through the poetry of a direct translation. The stories are clearly told here and there is much to value in the story. Don't be put off by the "for children" its simply a straight forward readable prose account of the great story form the Iliad
