Just a way to try and sell their imaging products

The book was terrible, it didn't really provide sample code that could be used for study or clean examples. Also it kept making a reference to products that needed to be licensed. There are much better books than this one, it was more like a product manual for their libraries and a complete waste at 50.00.

A hawt must read.

Let me start with saying this book is HOT. If you are after a story that pack in a lot of punch into a quick read then this is the one for you.

You get a smoking hot alpha, a headstrong heroine, scorching sex, emotional moments, a good fight or two and a couple of secondary characters that need their own story. Say hello to Gabe’s partners and you will understand that last bit.

Gabe Holt the sigh worthy hero is just delectable. He’s an ex MMA fighter who now owns a club called Sin with his friends. He is just……sigh. What Gabe does for his brother is both heart-warming and scary. He’s a man of few words but plenty of action especially when it comes to Skyler.

“He was a man who’d once made his living with his fists, who now owned a club called Sin.”

Skylar Thompson our heroine, I loved her. The good girl who doesn’t do one night stands and certainly not with a tough guy like Gabe. I loved that she was bold enough to push herself out of her neat box to go after what she wanted. Even if what she wanted was Gabe.

“You shouldn’t be allowed to wear clothes,” she sputtered. I’m serious. There needs to be a law against it.”

Together these two are both combustible and a force to be reckoned with. The chemistry is so strong with Gabe and Skylar it will melt your kindle. There’s a hot scene on Gabe’s office that had me fanning myself. Yowza.

“Please Gage. Please.” “That’s it, bad girl, I just needed to hear you beg.”

When they quickly find themselves in deeper than either planned, it’s fun to watch them fight the addiction they have become to each other and to find their way to their HEA.

I loved this story and will be eagerly waiting for more. Like I said, there are secondary characters begging for their own story and I would snatch them up in a heartbeat.

cliche all the way

I actually like having a sense that what I'm reading could be possible in real life. I mean I know that when I read a fiction book that's what it is, fiction, but I like to be able to at least pretend that I'm reading characters with a real personality and a real mind, not some soap opera dialogue that I can't help but gag over. For instance; the H goes "... You're playing with fire" and the h goes "what if I like playing with fire? Did you ever think of that? What if I want to get burned?" What? No... Come on. Or the usual; "... Go or I won't be able to stop myself next time" (or some idiotic comment among those lines) and the usual 90's drama response "Is that a promise?" Nooooooo!!!! Come ON! Don't say that! I know that if I ever heard anyone talking like that I'd laugh so hard. So please, let's try to tone down the soap opera drama and go for a 24 (was it?) Year old girl that talks like a 24 year old girl and a normal guy that no matter his age won't say thinks like that.. You're playing with fire.. Please Kill me now.

What I Liked:

Super short review coming your way! Well, shorter than my usual review length. This book is quite short, so it is only fitting! I really, really enjoyed this book. I've not read anything by Elle Kennedy before (though I know she has a very popular New Adult series published - The Deal?), but I'm really happy with the first book I've read by her! This one was AMAZING!

Skyler and Gage meet in a nightclub, a nightclub that Gage owns in part. One steamy interaction leads to another, and the two of them can't keep their hands off each other. Skyler wants to keep seeing Gage, but Gage doesn't think it will work. With his dangerous past haunting him, he knows he should keep Skyler far away. But neither of them are prepared to let each other go.

This book is definitely one of my favorite Brazen books I've read. It's only a novella (sadness!), but it's one of the hottest ones I've read, with a sweet and steamy story, and likable characters. Skyler and Gage lock eyes and fall in lust, which sounds pretty typical for your average romance story. But I love how much chemistry these two have together, how they lose control, make each other crazy (in various ways), and grow to care for one another.

Skyler is a sweetie! I really could relate to her, because I feel like she and I are very similar. She isn't some sex goddess or a girl who talks dirty, but she knows what she wants and goes after it. Or, in this case, him. Gage is the silent, brooding type. He works hard at his nightclub, as well as to take care of his little brother's problems (which are pretty serious). Gage doesn't want to get close to anyone, but Skyler is persistent in a non-clingy way, and he started caring about her pretty quickly.

Bottom line - I loved the steaminess of this novel (the chemistry is off the charts), and I also loved the relationship development and growth. I really like Skyler, and I really like Gage, and I really like the two of them together. I wish this novel were longer because I LOVED the explosive chemistry and sweet relationship these two have! But it was a great novella as it was.

What I Did Not Like:

Like I said, longer! This isn't quite a complaint, because the story is perfect at its length, and isn't underdeveloped or anything. This is just me wanting more banter and steamy scenes from Skyler and Gage.

Would I Recommend It:

Of all the Brazen I've read, this one is probably the one I'd recommend the most! Also anything by Tessa Bailey. Also Down for the Count. But guys - this book! It was really good! I definitely need to read more Elle Kennedy - it would seem that all of her books promise steamy sizzling chemistry and great HEAs!

Rating:

4 stars. I really enjoyed this book! I'm curious about the next book in this series - the lead characters are so funny together (one of them pretends he doesn't like her), so I'm sure their romance will be a good one. In any case, it's clear that I need to read more Elle Kennedy!

Short and sweet, with a happily ever after, this story was filled with funny moments that made it a joy to read.

Although a relatively new author for me, I've recently had the pleasure of reading a few books by Heather Long and I've really enjoyed them. 'Pryde and Precious' is her second book in Eliza Gayle's multi-author Southern Shifters collection for Amazon's Kindle Worlds and I was lucky enough to be given a copy in exchange for an honest review. This stand alone paranormal romance is short, sweet, funny and I loved it.

Arianna Ferrars is a botanist who lives for her plants, her babies, and desperately wants to make the world a less hungry place by developing strains of plants that can withstand harsh conditions and still produce a crop. She's also a psi of very little ability or power who struggles to build and maintain her mind shields and she's gone to a lot of trouble to find a quiet place where she and her plants can live. She really has no idea why she's suddenly been landed with a scent project by one of her clan council, it's so not her area of expertise and she needs help to even understand half of what she's been given, so she sends out a few impersonal emails asking for information and waits for them to email her back. She really doesn't get on well with people, sees the others in her department about once a week and no-one ever comes to her home. Ever. That is until the day John Brandon turns up on her doorstep wanting to talk to her about an email she sent, but she refuses point blank to let him in.....

Army Colonel and weretiger John Brandon has been working undercover amongst humans at Karberos for the last five years in order to track and assess potential threats against the clans. When a new lead on Project Pryde comes to his attention he decides it's time for a field trip and less than two hours later, he's at the door of Arianna Ferrars pretending he wants to talk about an email she just sent. He figured she'd be happy to talk to him, not out and out refuse to let him in and when she asks how he knows where she lives, he breaks in. Just in time to catch her as she passes out. Great! Now what was he supposed to do.....

I don't want to give spoilers here, but despite the danger of the situation, I really couldn't help but laugh. Despite some unpleasant moments as the pair try to work out what's going on and why Arianna was suddenly lumbered with Project Pryde, they're also forced to come to terms with the fact that they're true mates. This book was filled with funny moments which made it a joy to read, has a little angst, and a sweet romance that doesn't turn steamy until the very end of the book. It has some really good and some not so good characters briefly passing through the story, a hunky and protective hero, a heroine who has a little fight lurking beneath the shy exterior and a happily ever after. I loved it.

Sadly, none of the books in Amazon's Kindle Worlds are available outside the US so international readers are losing out on yet another terrific book.

An OK read

*I received an ARC of “Pryde and Precious” in exchange for an honest review* This was an OK read. Arianna Ferrars, a reclusive minor telepath and botanist who lives and breathes plants, finds herself tasked by her clan with researching recombinant DNA for scent, a field that is outside her area of expertise. Colonel John Brandon, a shifter and undercover agent, intercepts emails that she sends to various human companies requesting assistance. He then tracks her down and in the course of all the intrigue that is uncovered finds himself developing feelings for Arianna, feelings that she reciprocates.

I have to be honest. I found it difficult to get into the story. The plot seemed to have a few holes with some things such as the knowledge of what a “psi” was being assumed. The romance between Arianna and John wasn’t believable as there was very little chemistry between them and there was no build up to the romance. One minute they were total strangers and the next they were hit by the realization that they were fated mated!

I realize that “Pryde and Precious” is part of a series so it is likely that a reader would have a better understanding of the story if the read the other books in the series. If that was the case, then that should have been clearly stated as I was under the impression that this was a standalone book. It would have been good if the author had given us a little more background to the story.

So in summary this was a story which didn’t appear to be complete as it left me with more questions than answers.

Oh yes I certainly was not disappoint, being that this is my third Southern Shifter it let me flow right though page by page not being able to put this story down. I love it just an awesome read. I would definitely recommend this must read book!!
Arianna Ferrars is a botanist who loves plants. She stays with her plants and never people or shifters besides she is a very low grade Psi but she could hear everyone's thought all together, no matter how much she tried to she couldn't filter the voices and she suffered painfully. Her boss emailed her a new project she was not qualified for but if she refused it could not be good for her. What was Arianna going to do?
John Brandon is a Colonel in the Army as a Military Liason, soon to retire, he made sure what Intel he fed to both sides. Being a White Tiger Shifter John looks out for his Clan. Getting an email red flagged was a signal for him to check out the people. Could it be something bad for his clan? He had to go hunting to find out, John found something he wasn't expecting. I was gifted this ARC for an honest and truthful review.
